Stay-At-Home Mistress

Today the sun was at the peak of its blazing brightness. However, within her sheltered and dark mansion, Remilia secluded herself to avoid any unwanted burns. Damn her weakness, she was capable of a thousand mighty feats, but she is weakened by a simple stroke of the sun's warm arms on her cold, pale skin. Regardless of the parasol, she would still struggle to see with a blanket of sunlight blocking everything. She even contemplated forming another mist to cover the sky, but the last time she attempted that she was heavily punished.
The vampire roamed her home with boredom creeping behind her. She had been in nearly every room in her endless and elaborate home, but either it was empty of any soul, or any residents residing there happened to shoo her away due to busyness. Flandre was an option, but as much she treasured her younger sister, her volatile attitude seemed to warrant more injury than entertainment.
Whatever, she didn't need them to occupy her.
Oftentimes, she would prefer not to be disturbed by foolish creatures in search of the truth of supposed mysteries but today...She was willing to play with new visitors. Finished with searching for something to eat away at her boredom, she returned to her room and sat on her bed with a plop and a hefty sigh.
Though she wasn't the kind to give faith to the gods, she prayed some deity out there would be generous enough to bless the childish mistress with temporary company.

Loud footsteps echoed though the empty corridors as Shoki walked through the mansion. She had heard a lot of this place, and it was only now she had the courage to go in. And yet it was so... empty. Maybe because it was daytime? Whatever the case, the emptiness was getting to her and she wouldn't have minded even if the time maid or the Scarlet Devil herself showed up, the company, and possible fight, would be most welcome. Anything to break this monotony.

She hopped out of her bed out and easily suspected it may have been Sakuya, her maid. At last she would be ridden of her boredom and perhaps "play" with her. But that seemed unlikely...Everyone was preparing for the party tonight celebrating her anniversary of arriving to Gensokyo, there wasn't a possible way she could be finished already even with her magic.
She leaped off the bed and approached her door, pressing her ear to the door. The vampire didn't hear any voices, just the sound of footsteps hitting the ground. Remilia opened the door, careful not to make a sound.
She poked her head out, and saw in the distance a red haired girl.
Ah, an intruder! Now the fun begins!
With blinding speed, she preformed her infamous Demon Lord Arrow move. Her whole body flew to the ceiling, and she waited there until her prey came a bit closer to gain an element of surprise, living up to her wicked reputation.

Shoki had heard nothing so far, but as she walked she noticed a door was ajar. She had faced many youkai while simply going for a walk, and even if they were quiet, which the smarter ones were, there would usually be some clue that they were there. The door just might be such a hint, or... it could just be an open door.

Still, better safe than sorry. She summoned a pistol and to her hand, enchanted by her to be able to harm youkai. She didn't call out to anything that might be watching her, because if she really was alone that may betray her position to something out of sight. She simply kept walking, holding her gun close to her, ready to fire if needed.

Remilia gently bit her lip as she saw she had left the door open. She had to admit, it was rather clever of the girl to take that sign and use it to her advantage. She peered as the redhead summoned her weapon. This clearly wasn't some ordinary human.  Unfortunately, for Remilia, that only meant the mistress would have a more difficult time safely making a dramatic entrance. The tiny mistress didn't seem to mind, it was reminiscent of earlier battles, but this time she would make sure she would not let her guard down and win with ease.
The vampire abandoned the plan and attempted to cultivate another one with great speed. This time she would plan to ambush her from behind, keeping up with her original intent. However, she hoped this would make it a bit more difficult for the girl to aim her weapon at the vampire.
The devil patiently waited until the girl passed a bit further ahead to initiate her second plan. With her large, red eyes, she attentively watched her prey like a hawk. On her face fell a relaxed and toothy smile.

Shoki kept walking, but... there didn't seem to be anything dangerous. Maybe the door really was just a door. She relaxed somewhat and kept walking, but she had a feeling she was missing something... important.

Now was her chance!
With a sudden beat of her large wings, she unleashed her Demon Lord Arrow technique and rammed her entire petite body onto the unsuspecting intruder walking ahead.
She preformed with great accuracy, and now she had the girl in her fiendish grip. As her body collided with her, she knocked her to the ground, falling on her back. Remilia pulled the arm with the gun in her hand and pried it out of her hands and tossed it aside. The vampire then pinned her down tightly holding both of the enemy's arms. She then leaned closer only to whisper options in her ear.
"Pick your poison. Would you like to become my snack or would you prefer me sparing you the agony and snap your neck?" The small mistress offered.

The ceiling... I should have known... Shoki struggled under the vampire's grip, but she was simply too strong to escape. Hearing her options, she almost smiled. Youkai always underestimated her... "Actually, I don't like either choice. I'll have to make my own!" She summoned a flash grenade to her hand and closed her eyes as it went off.

Her eyes widen as she saw the grenade suddenly appear at will in her hand. Suddenly, the grenade exploded, causing Remilia to fly back with a harsh collision against the wall. As her back hit it, she slid down, the wall behind her cracked. Though she was hurt, being a vampire warranted her an almost invincible body. In moments, she got up, however she lacked grace and ease in her movement.
Her eyes instantly target the girl. She chuckled a bit, a small, cheeky grin feel on her face.
"Ah, of course I should have expected you had some trick up your sleeve. I'll congratulate you on that. However, you have intruded into my mansion and wreaked my property."
Remilia's expression turned venomous.
"And I won't allow that."
The Vampire began to attack by summoning Servant Flier. Behind her appeared magic circles that fired blood red bullets in the shape of bats. The projectiles headed specifically for the girl. Next, she used her Demon Lord Walk, rushing with blinding speed towards her.

Remilia felt the enemy's bullets graze against her but that didn't stop the mistress. She missed the girl, but Remilia was still packed with stamina. She attacked with an uppercut attack she referred to as Demon Lord Cradle. She began twisting into the air raking her opponent with her long, painted nails.
Damn, she was tougher than she expected, but Remilia was even tougher and wouldn't dare lose a fight while investing all of her effort into this.

Remilia grinned maliciously as she managed to get a hit. Blood splashed on her hands, coating her already red nails in a fresh layer of blazing red. Suddenly, she saw as the girl embraced the sword in her hand and stabbed Remilia directly in the chest. She collapsed to the ground and as she fell, a wave of pain flooded over her. She laid on her side.
In an act of desperation, she began viciously pulling out the blade by grasping it by the hilt, though she was easily hindered due to the agony of moving it the slightest bit. She writhed excessively as she stubbornly continued. Blood began cascading downward, staining a portion of her dress even further than it already was.
"S-shit..." She hissed between her pain as she continued working on tearing the blade out. "I'm not d-done...!" She barked, her tone shifting to something more fierce.

Shoki fell to the ground, barely able to stand, but stand she did. The wound in her right side was horribly painful, and she wished the fight was over, but even as she thought that she heard the vampire say the opposite: "I'm not d-done...!" in a much more dangerous tone than she had before.

Shoki held her side with her right arm, to stop the bleeding, and summoned another katana in her left. "Unless you want another sword sticking out of you, we are done." She was desperately trying to keep the fear out of her voice. "I didn't ask for this fight, Lady Scarlet, you attacked me first. Why don't we just talk this out?"

She hoped, she prayed the vampire would listen. She may be able to hurt the vampire, but killing never sat well with her and she doubted she could pull it off in this case anyway. If the vampire really did intend to kill her, her only option would be to run...

The vampire pretended to have not heard the other's words, she continued pulling out the sword, groans and wincing filled the air. She certinally did hear, but Remilia was never really the first invididual to pop in your mind when the word "mature" rings in the air. She was too prideful to ever believe she had lost. However, she did have an entire sword buried in her chest making it seem as if she were the hands of defeat.
The young mistress refused to admit she had lost, but since she inflicted an equal amount of damage to the other, she could easily call this a draw.
On the bright side, at least this wouldn't kill her. However, if it were a wooden stake that had settled in her chest, she would have been a goner by now.
After enough work, she finally got the sword out. She sighed with relief, but it hardly remedied the agony. Pain still coursed through her body. She winced excessively and blood continued pooling on the ground.
"Dammit...Sakuya won't be please to see this..." Remilia whispered with frustration. She rose up, clearly lacking any stability. With one hand, she placed it on her chest, attempting to stop the blood from spilling any further.
"H-hehe..." She giggled weakly. "Nice work..."

Her movements are unstable... and she isn't thinking clearly. I might just get out of this alive, but... how? She wouldn't kill the vampire, that would bring the wrath of her servants and sister down on her head, and probably the entire Human Village. If she ran, Remilia would undoubtedly pursue, and even in this condition she would probably catch her. She clearly wasn't taking her plea for peace seriously, so that left only one choice... to fight.

She brandished her sword threateningly. "Thanks, you aren't doing too bad yourself. Let me be honest, you're the best challenge I've gotten... I don't want to kill you, but I will if this keeps going."

"Hold it...Look...Let's call it a draw, okay? My maid will be pissed at me...To find we made a mess while we played..." She panted, chuckling weakly. She paused for a moment before speaking again.
"Whatever...We have fairies for a reason."
With her free hand, she snapped her fingers and called out with the last of her effort: "Fairies!"
Suddenly a swarm of fairies sprouted from every corridor and pathway. They were dressed in working clothes fit for a maid. In moments they all stood in line in front of their mistress. As soon as they saw the mess and their lady's wounds the maids panicked and eyed the red head venomously.
"Calm yourselves...Look, she's no threat. You see this mess...? I need you to clean it up right away...I also need one of you to supply me with bandages. As for the other, bring her some too...We'll be in my dressing room waiting."
They all nodded attentively, and they broke into two groups. Half of the maids quickly dashed away in a certain direction. They were out to broom away the mess and mop up the spilled blood. As for the other half, they fluttered to grab medical supplies.
Remilia then began walking forward, she signified for the other to come and follow. As soon as she caught up, she began a conversation
"So...Who are you, and what dared to bring you here anyways...? She questioned earnestly. She was rather impressed with the battle she had just experienced, curiosity swelled in her mind. Brave explorers often don't get this far considering Meiling took charge in isolating the place from unwanted visitors. If it happened to be another adventurer searching for some treasure or something cliche, she would have to force Meiling to improve her work.

Remilia scoffed. "Typical...People wouldn't there venture here without any rumors backing up their curiosity...But I'm fond to hear I was on the top on fights you've experienced. It's no surprise I happened to be the best, though," She boasted freely. Regardless of the severe wounds she just faced, the vampire still maintained her bratty attitude through and through.
After walking through a long hallway, around the end happened to be an ornately decorate door. Remilia moved towards it, twisting the nob open and walking inside, she invited the other in with a patronizing gesture of her hand.
As the pair slipped in, they were greeted by a room fit for a king, but likely just below standards for the egotistical lady of the mansion. Just as everywhere else, the room was coated in a reddish brown color scheme, giving the room a rather eerie appearance. However the walls were lined in golden filigree.
The room was mostly filled with various dresses of all kinds. Most were white, but were dirtied by the blood spilled giving it a faded pinkish appearance and some others happened to be red, belonging to her beloved and chaotic younger sister.
Suddenly a group of fairies flew into the room all carrying far too many bandages, Remilia didn't mind however. Some fairies dropped their supplies and dashed towards a dress, taking it out of the hook and fluttering back to their mistress. Then they all surrounded her, making it impossible to see the vampire if you were outside of the ring of fairies. The maids were busy at work tending to their lady, changing her clothes and wrapping her wounds. Moments later they broke apart, revealing Remilia in a fresh new dress.
She snapped her fingers. "Now that you're done here, tend to her."
"Yes, Lady Scarlet," They all responded in a synchronized fashion with a flat tone. They fluttered towards Shoki, repeating the same actions they preformed with the vampire.

Shoki almost screamed when the fairies surrounded her, taking off her clothes, touching her wound, in general invading her privacy, made worse by the fact that she couldn't see anything but fairies until they broke away. Once they did, her wound felt much better and she found herself in clothes similar to Remilia, only scaled to her size and distinctly shabbier. It was still the finest clothes she'd ever worn, even better than the kimono she saved for special occasions.

"Hm...Not bad I suppose," She commented, observing Shoki in her clothing. "A lot better than the ratty garments you carried around. Feel free to keep that. I honestly stopped wearing that thing decades ago," She flatly responded, she actually wasn't exaggerating, an immortal girl goes through a lot of old unused clothing.
Now that Remilia was fixed up, she stood with a great posture that left anyone in her gaze feeling patronized, and though she was painfully short, her enormous bat wings made up with pure intimidation. The mistress shifted her view from Shoki to her maids.
"Give me an update on the fairies working on the damage me and this girl made while 'playing,' also I need to know how far into the preparations the staff has made. I expect tonight to be as stunning as every year," Remilia demanded. The fairies responded with a simple "yes, ma'am" and fluttered away leaving the pair to themselves.

It left them far too busy to notice you came around roaming my home like a rat. However, here's a reward for our little draw, feel free to come to tonight's event. The more the merrier, but piss me off again, and your blood will be in my goblet," She offered earnestly, but easily managed to tie in an intimidating threat. She grinned, her two fangs prominent in her cheeky smile.

"I'd rather you not. This is supposed to be a kind of private party anyways, I would appreciate it if it stays that way," She responded flatly. Her expression mimicking her tone.
"Anyways, now that we got everything in place, follow. I should introduce you to the rest of the staff before tonight. They're likely to think you're just a stowaway...Granted, you were. But not anymore," She rambled on, adding a little girlish chuckled at the end. She turned away from Shoki, walking towards the exit of the room.

Shoki followed the vampire. "I understand, and I didn't really want her around anyway, but she does have a habit of sneaking into such things... may as well save her the trouble." She shrugged. "And I have heard of your staff, they're almost... legendary, really. To meet them would be a great honor." She smiled. "Almost as much as meeting you." She considered bringing up the resident who had went unmentioned, Remilia's sister, but thought better of it. It was probably a touchy subject, at best...

"Good, this party is pretty exclusive and I don't want the entire population of Gensokyo flooding my home and wanting to participate," She sighed. Ugh, the very idea sends a shiver down her spine. It's already stressful enough watching her staff work her hardest during this period of time.
